Vessel Delays
23rd September, 2020
While we have been advised that the industrial action has been suspended at DP World terminal, it is still ongoing at Patricks causing massive disruption Australia wide.
We are continuing to be inundated with messages from carriers advising severe vessel delays and port omissions.
Patricks reports a backlog of nearly 35,000 export and import containers in Sydney, with other states taking extra time to unload vessels or bypassing ports in an effort to get back on schedule after the delays. These delays are being felt in all Australian ports.
We realise that this could not come at a worse time as businesses scramble to get cargo moving after what has already been a very difficult year. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to keep on top of these delays and find solutions to keep your cargo moving. We can only hope that the terminals and the MUA come to an agreement asap to get back to full operations – recognising the disastrous implications this is having on Australian businesses.
