Current industrial action at all 3 terminals across various parts of Australia is exacerbating the serious congestion issues at Sydney port.

Sydney empty parks are now overflowing and at breaking point. We are experiencing multiple redirections after booking slots into empty park’s as per the shipping lines advice.
MUA Industrial Action
Patrick Terminals has announced that the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) has advised Patrick of Protected Industrial Action.
Vessel Delays
Due to recent bad weather in Sydney there has been ongoing berthing congestion at the port terminals. The congestion is causing vessel’s to be delayed through Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
Air Freight Update
The air freight market continues to be challenged by the impacts of Covid-19 with Australian capacity remaining at very low levels.
GST Deferral
The Tax Office advises that they can now have GST deferral in place within 3 to 4 days of receiving an application, this process previously took up to 30 days.
Compliance Updates
Clients whose import prices are based on a Transfer Pricing arrangement should be aware of a potential compliance issue associated with end of financial year.
