Staff update– Farewell to Sally & Welcome to Hayley
In April, we said farewell to Sally and welcomed Hayley to the Southern Cross Cargo team.
Sally has been an integral part of the business, playing a key role in the smooth transition of the Lynair Adelaide operations into SCC. Her contributions—ranging from supporting our ACCA, ISO, and HACCP accreditations to implementing Employment Hero—have left a lasting impact. While we were sad to see her go, we’re thrilled for what lies ahead in her well-earned retirement, which begins with an extended overseas adventure. Sally, thank you for your commitment and support—you will be truly missed!
At the same time, we were excited to welcome Hayley to our operations team. Joining us with a wealth of freight forwarding experience, Hayley has already proven herself to be a valuable and knowledgeable addition, providing fantastic support to Denis, Taffy, and Mark.
Please join us in thanking Sally for her dedication and warmly welcoming Hayley to the SCC family!
SCC Visibility and Tracking (NEO)
At SCC, shipment tracking and visibility has always been available—whether at shipment, purchase order, or SKU level—depending on how much detail you need.
We’re excited to announce the rollout of our new tracking system, NEO. Customer feedback during the trial phase has been excellent, with strong praise for its accuracy and ease of use. NEO provides a single, streamlined platform to communicate, share documents, and track shipments in real time.
We’re now pleased to extend NEO access to all of our customers.
Our NEO team, led by Mark Kleidon, will be in touch to demonstrate the system and ensure it’s tailored to enhance your international freight visibility.

Qantas (QF)- new flights to Shanghai

Commencing 26th June, flights will depart on Thursday and Saturday.
This service will further enhance the ability of Australian exporters to sell into the Chinese market.
Cathay Pacific (CX) to Increase Services from Brisbane and Perth
Starting October 26th, 2025, Cathay Pacific will operate two daily flights from both Brisbane and Perth to Hong Kong.
This boost to 14 weekly services from each city will significantly enhance cargo capacity on the route.
With Hong Kong as a key hub, the increased frequency also improves access to over 100 onward destinations across the CX global network.
Sea Freight Update
Rates from China to Australia have remained stable in recent weeks. While shipping lines have made several attempts to increase rates, softer seasonal volumes have kept these adjustments at bay. We expect this trend to continue through to mid-July, with a clearer picture of market conditions emerging by the end of the month. At SCC, we are not experiencing any issues with bookings or space availability.
Cargo from Europe continues to face extended lead times due to the ongoing Red Sea situation. Vessels are still rerouting via the Cape of Good Hope, adding approximately 14 days to traditional transit times.
