We understand the current market conditions are challenging, and we want to keep you updated as things continue to change. Fuel price volatility remains high, with carriers and service providers announcing increases on a near daily basis.
These increases are now affecting all areas of freight, including:
- Air Freight – rising fuel surcharges making up a larger portion of total costs
- Ocean Freight (LCL & FCL) – emergency surcharges in place
- Trucking / Cartage – significant increases across all states
Current impacts:
- LCL Ocean Freight: Emergency surcharge ranging between USD 6.00 – USD 12.00 per CBM
- Air Freight: Ongoing increases in fuel surcharges from airlines and an additional war surcharge added on some routes.
- Trucking / Cartage (Australia-wide): Fuel surcharges currently ranging between 35% – 54%, depending on state and provider
Recent examples include:
- QLD up to 44-50%
- NSW & VIC generally 35-44%
- SA & WA up to 40-54%
These changes are being applied with little to no notice and may affect both current and upcoming shipments. All surcharges will be shown as separate line items where applicable.
