BMSB Update – China
16th February, 2022
Please be advised that China has been declared an emerging risk country for BMSB for the remainder of the 2021-22 BMSB season. This has resulted from the detection of live BMSB in some containerised commodities imported from China.
The impact for clients is that FCL shipments of nominated tariffs from China may be selected for random onshore inspection.
The tariffs in question are:
Ch. 39 – Plastics and articles thereof
Ch. 68 – Articles of stone, plaster, cement, asbestos, mica or similar materials
Ch. 69 – Ceramic products
Ch. 70 – Glass and glass ware
Ch. 73 – Articles of iron or steel
Ch. 84 – Machinery and mechanical appliances; parts thereof
Ch. 85 – Electrical machinery and equipment and parts thereof; sound recorders and reproducers, television image and sound recorders and reproducers, and parts and accessories of such articles
Ch. 89 – Ships, boats and floating structures
These measures apply to FCL only and will not impact LCL shipments.
